FAQ

Do players have to try out for a team?

Yes.  The club has posted tryout dates each year.  If a player is not available for the scheduled dates, they may contact us at charlestoncityfc@gmail.com to see when a makeup date can be scheduled.

Is there a fee to try out for a team?

There is a try out fee of $20 per player. (Non-Refundable)

Do I need to register for tryouts or can I just show up?

It is best that you register for tryouts as soon as possible.  This will create a registration number for your child that will be given them to wear at tryouts.  It makes the sign in process easier and smoother once you arrive at the facility.  It also allows us to plan for proper staffing for player evaluation.  You can register your player(s) at our website:  www.charlestoncityfc.com {Enter Link}

When does season start/end?

Our seasons are based on a one-year program.

  • Fall league season (U8 - U18) begins in late August with practice and league games running September through November.
  • Winter Futsal Season (U8 -U18) - Begins in December and ends in January.
  • Spring league season (U8 - U14 Teams) begins in February and runs through April.
  • During summer break, we often plan optional camps and clinics for the players.

Detailed schedules are provided to each team based on age, level, and ability.

  • NOTE: AGES U15 and UP ONLY PLAY FALL AND WINTER SEASONS.

Where does the club practice?

Teams practices at one of our facilities:

  • Big Ridge - Ridge Baptist Church located at 2168 Ridge Baptist Church Rd (Summerville)
  • Little Ridge - Ridge Baptist Church located at 2114 Ridge Baptist Church Rd (Summerville)

Where and when are games scheduled?

Younger teams (U8 - U12) typically play in the Tri-County area/Myrtle Beach/Savannah.  Games are normally scheduled for Saturdays and some Sundays.

Older teams (U13 and above) will travel all over the state depending on teams that play in the league. Games will be scheduled for Saturday and some Sundays.

How many days a week do teams practice?

Teams will practice 3 times per week.

Practice schedules are announced to each team after teams are finalized.

What are the yearly player dues and what do the dues cover?

Player dues are based on a yearly commitment and vary per age group. The dues cover ref fees, field fees, and league fees for the Fall / Winter / Spring seasons, as well as coaching fees, registration, facility fees, etc. for the entire year.  Once a player is accepted on a team, an initial commitment fee is due and the remainder of the dues are broken down into four additional monthly payments.
